Construction Controller CPA Preferred

The Controller is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
The Controller will use their prior construction cost accounting experience to analyze cost records to ascertain distribution of costs for service agreements, design and construction projects. The candidate will be responsible for classifying labor, material and overhead costs to compute the unit costs of product or service; and records cost data for use by management in controlling expenditures.
The Controller determines and installs cost accounting methods and procedures throughout the company. This role analyzes actual costs versus contracted costs and prepares reports of variances; it also computes cost value of work in process, and complies cost data for preparation of operating budgets.
This individual is responsible for the general ledger, job cost, bank reconciliations and accounts payable, and account receivables. Additional responsibilities include performing monthly closings, maintenance of accounting files, and preparation/organization of various financial forms, reports, and financial analyses, and compliance.
